There has been a cold snap where I live and the tent gets really cold. The libraries are closed for the holidays, but it is warming up a bit and so, wandering won't be so frigid.

You also need more food as calories to burn to stay warm enough, with SNAP that really is a challenge as is obvious with rising food prices. SNAP does not do COLA Not having way to prepare foods, (a kitchen) does prove difficult since you can't use SNAP for hot foods or eating out. Snacks and cold cans of ravioli are the kind of fare one has!

I plan to at least try to do all of my own labor, which saves a lot of money. I might need a little help with anything that requires muscle strength. It'll probably take me months to do, but that's ok. I waited 16 years for my then husband to get around to helping me. I know that doing it myself will be very satisfying.

Not a hoarder but “stuff” after 21 years in this house. All of our parents are gone now and somehow all the stuff (books, collectibles, records and CDs, some furniture, etc.) ended up here and not with our brothers. And more stuff. I’d love to hire people to do this but DH (who has hoarder tendencies) refuses.

Try it in small increments and it won't seem so overwhelming.

I'm a minimalist at heart. When relatives passed on I graciously declined accepting things for the most part. My brother took boxes and boxes of things, and I'd bet that after over a decade everything is still in those boxes.

worth of stuff. I am very slow at this because I need to decide item by item to pack or dispose and then whether to trash, recycle or donate. And then who to donate to. My husband would just throw everything away and I am not for that so I think I can see where your DH is coming from. Maybe your DH could get involved in sorting things out?

The stuff with memories attached are the hardest but I took pictures of those items and that made it easier to get rid of them. Maybe that is something that would satisfy your DH?

Good luck!

25. I want a home
Mon Dec 23, 2019, 04:59 PM
Dec 2019

Not huge or fancy, just a home in the woods with a few acres so I could raise food, plant trees a garden.bIt would need solar panels and a wood stove. I want it near public transportation that's really good, with places to go,people to meet.
Places to volunteer. I'd definitely adopt a few cats, maybe a dog and keep chickens and maybe a peacock and a few pea hens..

I ask for no landlord, no mortgage,no rent,no housing association , no tax. No reason to be found for this Haven to be stolen or confiscated away.

Because I that want it to be my permanent refuge. Not a place that could be confiscated ever.

A refuge no rich pig ,no market games, no thieves with money,or manipulative greedy assholes, zoning bullshit, among the other billion reasons a home could be lost and taken away from me.

I want that stability in my life and a community I could connect to and grow to love. Build myself a tribe/ family. I would share this refuge with a friend I've known for decades who suffers financially too. We have lived together before and that time was to both of us the best times of our lives.

I would make this place a true asshole free zone,a refuge in every sense of the word. I would turn it to a work of art, and love. A sacred place (not in a religious way ) In time maybe a few people whom I grow to love and trust could build thier own little place in the woods nearby. It would be by most precious dream, realized .

I'm disabled and live in HUD. I thought about leaving when trump got in and I found out alot like you have to make a minimum of 1,000 bucks a month to be permitted leave the country. And passports cost 300 and some change.

Deliberately out of reach I'd say yes.besides other countries don't want disabled immigrants.

Half of what you think.

I realize you might still not be able to afford it, but it's not as expensive as you believe.

Plus, there are no minimum income requirements to leave this country. Another country might require some minimum for you to be a permanent resident, but you can leave even if totally broke.

84. Whatever you saw at the post office was wrong, and I can't begin to imagine
Fri Dec 27, 2019, 02:11 AM
Dec 2019

why that had that number posted. Passports have not gotten cheaper. You either mis-read what you saw or bizarrely, they had completely erroneous information. It is somewhat possible that the $300 amount was for some independent company to expedite getting a passport. Some years back when I needed a passport renewal in a hurry I paid some extra money for that service, but it was maybe fifty bucks above the cost of the passport renewal, which back then was probably about $75. If you're renewing a passport it's only $110. And if you only want a passport card it's only $65.00

Here are a couple of links that might be helpful: https://www.rushmypassport.com/blog/how-much-does-it-cost-to-get-a-passport/

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/need-passport/card.html

And again, it's not the leaving of this country that costs (other than air fare or bus fare or some such), in that there's no income minimum imposed on someone who wants to leave. So leaving isn't really a problem. It's staying somewhere else that might be. I honestly don't know a lot about this topic, but doing some serious research, country by country, might be worthwhile if it makes sense for you to relocate.

She didn't speak a word of english nor I spanish, she did a great job at a great price.

This is what I'd really love for Christmas :I want all things money can’t buy. Love, Peace, Respect, Freedom, Happiness, Loyalty, Honesty, Dignity and the Liberty to enjoy them all.
