For a Koala to go up to people even close to like that is amazing and shows how desperate they are. Koalas may be adorable but they are not nice and trusting. It was amazing it was letting her pet it without objection.

because of drought and fires. Perhaps some kind of water stations could be set up to at least help a little.

Then release them when its safe again. Hell! I bet they could get plenty of volunteers to help out.
Maybe they have. I hope they have.

It is kind of the cyclists to help, but I wonder if anyone is doing anything to help them long term.
