(1,773 posts)for family jokes at my expense. I have now lived to be 61, so there is hope for the young man. Thanks again for the much needed humor, and the walk down memory lane.

(30,771 posts)But at one time, I was afraid a bully who had a grudge against me was going to break my cello. The band and orchestra teachers understood, without my actually tattling on the kid. For awhile, I stored it in the music teachers' office.
The bully found another target soon enough, so I could breathe a little more easily about my cello.
The bully looked a lot like 45's little white supremacist advisor, Miller. Of course he was a high school kid, but the resemblance was there.

(9,426 posts)I love those innocent looks on animals faces. So trusting. A bright spot in an increasingly scary world. The white cat with her snow white kittens, the tiny puppy with a slice of pizza, Hubert wanting a snowball fight. Love them all.

(4,079 posts)Growing up, my dad owned a KFC franchise. My brothers and I all worked there, ate there, lived most of our lives there. I NEVER noticed this. Snorted my coffee when I saw it just now.

(21,628 posts)Installing a camera because he couldn't breathe at night. This reminded me of a cat I had several years ago. He was playful, protective of me like a dog, but did not like cuddling. Acted like it was beneath his dignity.
He often slept on my bed's headboard, as if guarding me. I usually sleep on my stomach. A few times I woke up in the morning to feel a weight on my back. During the night, the tough guy, no cuddling cat had curled up on my back to sleep. I never woke up when he did it. Never felt him crawling up on me. He apparently waited until I was in a deep, slow wave sleep cycle to move onto my back unnoticed. Scary how stealthy cats can be.
