I likewise wonder how that sweet, wonderful dog wound up like that.
Some years ago a cat showed up in my front yard, starving and flea ridden. We took her in and it was the best thing ever. We already had two cats, so there was more of an adjustment period than with Suzy and George, but the ultimate outcome was essentially the same.
What is it that tells the dog or the cat that *this* house is one that will take her in? There are so very many stories like this. Our four-legged furry friends are truly precious.

So happy for Suzy and her new family! And what a great neighbor!
