18 hours.

Having coffee a couple times a day with monkfruit helps the cravings too.

It is here:

Effects of Intermittent Fasting on Health, Aging, and Disease

A scientist in my Linkedin contacts put up a post about it, and I downloaded the paper.

I realize that whenever I have controlled my weight and health, besides massive exercise, this was a feature of the process.

It is, according to the paper, good for you.

Both my son and myself are going there, when we can.

My work involves eating some lunches and dinners, but I'm hoping otherwise to embrace the concept.

I often don’t make it past 16 hours but I’ve lost 28lbs in a little over a year. I eat what I want after the 16 hours. I’m a healthy eater as a rule so I’m not pounding chips and candy anyway. I eat a pile of fresh raw veggies every day because I like them and I can eat at my desk and it’s not messy. I swear by avocado on good whole grain toast with a sliced hard boiled egg on top...it holds me over a long time. Dinner is whatever the heck I feel like...including wine. I noticed weight loss right away after I started. I’m trying for 10 more pounds.

First I read the book Delay, Don’t Deny. Short and anecdotal.

Then listened to the audiobook for The Obesity Code (2016). Dr. Jason Fung. Covers the science quite thoroughly. He followed up in 2018 with The Diabetes Code.

I use the “16 hours off, 8 on” method, though it’s more like 20 and 4 these days.

Quite pleased with it!

to get into that routine. I couple this with calorie counting. 1200-1500 calories/day. Some days I have a hard time eating 1200 calories. I’ve had a life-long problem with food and I’m so surprised that this is working, because nothing else has. I’m not going to tell you how much weight I’ve lost. Don’t want to celebrate yet because I’m afraid I’ll jinx my success so far.

the 5/2 and am now doing the 16/8 plan. Both worked/are working fantastic. Most important, all my important lab numbers went down to great levels. My cholesterol levels are at their best in YEARS.
I was on the 5/2 for two years and have found the 16/8 to be easier and the results are just as good, so for ME, I will be sticking with it.

I didn't think I could make it til lunchtime, but I found that the morning coffee perked me up and carried me til lunch. I only do it a few times a week, and I do it to maintain my weight loss.

I've lost 46 pounds. Really boosts the immune system too, which starts primarily in the gut. I joined healthywage.com so I make $$$ too. About 800 last time.

I started eating more vegetables and they’re now practically my favorite food because I season them well. I skip breakfast and lunch and eat from 3 to 8pm. I cook one meal. I cut back on meat so I just feel better. I lost 20 lbs. I can’t do much exercise at all because I have tendonitis so it’s hard to lose more weight. But if you can move around easily you can lose more weight.

Once you get used to it which is pretty easy you won’t ever feel hungry during your fasting time. Sometimes you can even go much longer without eating and still not feel hungry.

One of the really nice things about is that you don’t even think about food because you just aren’t hungry when you’re fasting.

Last time, she lost five pounds before giving it up.

So far this time, she's lost two pounds.

Three more, and she can quit again...

Been doing it for six years. Mostly 500-1000 pm. Love it. Injuries heal faster, mosquitos don’t find me as tasty as they did before, or if they do bite me they don’t itch horribly as they used to, clearer head, sleep better, to name some of the benefits.
