and my favorite school lunch was Frito Pie day. At least a few times a month but I would have been happy to have it every day. Not in the bag though. We got a bed of lettuce, a layer of Fritos, a scoop of chili so thick it retained the shape of the ice-cream scoop it was delivered from and topped with shredded cheddar cheese.

We got the lunch menu at the beginning of every month and it seems nobody ever skipped school on Frito Pie day.

and also so perfect with cranberry salsa.

regular corn tortilla chips are good plain or with too many things to list. salsa, guac, cheese, as nachos, as "croutons," in soups and salads, base for chilequillas...
