In St John, Bay of Fundy, Canada!
I was on a cruise last fall and did a tour where we went first to the location of the video, and then several hours later returned to the same spot to see the reversal. It was quite a sight. My photos and video aren't as good as this youtube video.

I was on a sailboat on the Neuse with a strong n'easter blowing, the river flow was going upward [the river top anyway], flooding the town of Oriental.

I was a kid. Our parents were taking us to visit NY/Canada, and my brother told me at Horseshoe Falls, water ran down one side and up the other.
Very disappointed! Also, learned to question whatever my brother said after that.

The Pali (mountains) are very steep and wet. The winds can be funneled.
