I was talking to the Lord yesterday

I was talking to the Lord yesterday and I said, "Rabbi, when they were crucifying you on the cross and sticking that sword in your side, how come you didn't just heal yourself?"

And Jesus was like, "My child, I don't think that would be an appropriate use of my powers. My father didn't put me on this Earth to act selfishly."

But I was all, "But, O Christ, it's like they say on an airplane. When the oxygen masks fall down in an emergency, you're supposed to help yourself first and then you can help the person next to you."

And the Lord said, "What's an airplane?"

...doubly so cause I'm a history teacher.

Triply so, because I've have friends who suffer from substance abuse

A part of substance abuse or is it lack of character? I find most liars make it up as they go along. In their minds it becomes reality.

History is my favorite subject. Real History , not fantasy.

The older I get, the more I realize how much I have lived to see. Forgive me if I do not want to go back to the good old days.

Well, actually only for 3 days, and then he came back to life. So it was more like a good, long nap.
