I could not find a proper group to post this.

But I am fairly sure there are DUrs who are living the life that Mrs K, Tess and I are about to embark on. Mrs K is last child after her dad passed, we are auctioning off his estate next month. And decided to sell our home too. And move on to the full time camping lifestyle while we are young enough to enjoy it. Tess is hcp and loves camping. Mrs K and I are 60 years old.

We have made a info trip to where we chose to live. But, it all seems a bit too easy. I feel I am missing something in my brain.

If there are any full time campers out here, feel free to DU mail me and we can talk there. I won't take up forum space on a personal issue unless a conversation starts and is productive.

Thanks in advance for any input.

And hoboed it to Costa Rica.

We highly recommend it. What we found out is take all advice with some grains of salt. Almost everything will be different for you. That is part of the adventure.

We Might write a book:

SO YOU ARE MOVING TO COSTA RICA.

Don’t Believe Anything You Read in Books
(Including This One)

Best of Luck.
Pura Vida as we say in Costa Rica

Problem is no one would believe it. Heck, I have and been living it and I can't believe it.

No one should have to live with this much "adventure".

My husband and I sold everything we owned including our business in 2006 and bought a large RV and traveled full time for 12 years. So much to learn but it was the best 12 years of our life. I have put my picture albums and letters from the road on a website which is www.jsshuckhart.us Feel free to explore it and see if you can pick up some helpful ideas. Good luck and have fun! I am envious!

but this seems like the perfect place for this kind of post.

I'm interested in seeing the responses - especially if folks have pics of campers and campsites. I hated camping with my mother and step-father because he was such a prick but I enjoyed going with my grandparents in their Airstream.

It always just seemed too expensive to me though so my wife and I never really thought about it. Our daughter had a stroke when she was in the womb and doesn't have full use of her left side but she gets around well enough. I wish we had held on to grandpa's little RV he bought after he sold the Airstream. It wasn't big enough for full-time living but short trips would have been fun.

I am not seeing the expensive part of it. Although this could be case by case. What I have found in my research is it depends on where you look. Of course there are landmark cities and sites we want to see, but staying in those immediate places is expensive. We have found a campsite that is less than an hour from Major Attractions/activities, and 35 minute drive to ocean for less than 500 a month.Which includes all, other than electric. And a quiet little ocean hangout where we spent 5 hours Sunday morning and had an incredible meal.and fantastic conversations with people.
The biggest pro of this campsite for us is, it is very quiet, a 55 yo plus, gated park. And we can drive a very short distance to get into the craziness of bigger cities if we choose to.
Given the costs we have as homeowners over the last 40 plus years, and the peacefulness we seek at this point in our life, we may save more in sanity, than in dollars in this move. Although we will save quite a few dollars too.

Now if we could just convince you OG, to replace your lil blue star with a Seahawk logo,,my world would be complete

ty for the input,, it's gonna be a great ride!

Just Google "full-time travel" or "full-time campers" or "off the grid", etc. You can sign up for their blogs and ask questions.

There are probably lots of YouTube videos on this as well because self-sufficiency and living "off the grid" is a huge fad these days.

Another idea is to visit some long-haul truckers web sites that have blogs. Many of those folks are essentially full-time campers!

I have looked at numerous of those types of sites. With Tess, I would never be comfortable in going off the grid, honestly.

Sometimes you just like to talk to people who you semi know and trust there opinions, so I just jotted it in here. Not even I can post about politics all the time. lol.. thanks for the thoughts!

Both retired. Sold their house last year and drove the RV down south and then west to Arizona where they have been camped now for several months. They appear to like it.
