Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI finally braved the grocery store.
I was expecting things to be chaotic but it was almost like any other visit. I found everything I needed. There was even some toilet paper left. I was second in line at the register. I was in and out in around 30 minutes.
The store was in Brooklyn, NY.

(13,598 posts)I'm in a town of about 50 thousand in Idaho. We've seen no such easing as of yet. I suspect that in a heavily Trump area, the half-wits were the last to realize this is serious, and were responsible for a lot of the hoarding. They are coming out of the hills in droves now.

(17,444 posts)I was wondering what part of the country and what sort of area (urban, suburban, etc.)? We are planning a trip tomorrow to the store.

(3,275 posts)I live in Brooklyn, NY. Fortunately, there are few Trump supporters. I have only seen one person wearing a trump t-shirt. That was back in 2017. He must have been a tourist.

(26,272 posts)The lines weren't long, at all. They did have toilet paper but no paper towels, flour and a few other items and there's a limit on canned veg, now.
Unlike when I was there on Friday, nobody had an overflowing cart.

We are in central mass. Our supermarkets got stripped pretty bare, but are being restocked slowly. Depending on the store, you may not find everything you want, but you can get what you need.
So far no apocalypse. No food riots. No gangs rampaging. All those hoarded bullets are just collecting dust.

(16,975 posts)My senior cats can best tolerate Friskies chicken prime filets. I was going to try Chewy, but they were out. My daughter stopped at w.m. for milk. Didn't get milk, but got me 2 cases of the cat food. About the amt. I usually buy at one time.
I haven't been out, and I don't miss the drive into town. My daughter will get what I need, but I hate thinking she'll be out, aside from her work.

(3,275 posts)I waited to get groceries for myself but I made sure that I had enough for my two cats last week. I guess I know where my priorities are.

(16,975 posts)still getting used to bulk buying and ahead. I have 3 cats and they eat about 4 cans a day. Adds up!

(28,941 posts)The supermarket here had half its shelves striped.
No baking goods, no potatoes or onions, no dry beans, few can goods, very little bread or frozen goods, meat produces almost gone (score the last whole chicken) and of course, no TP or paper towels.
Is everyone wiping their butts with a whole role each time?
