Currently, I'm watching episodes of the Nero Wolfe tv show from the early 2000s. It is really good. I'm in the mood for who done it mysteries lately.
What films and tv shows are you watching?

then plug in the receiver to a usb port on the tv and see if they work

(2,567 posts)Thank you for the suggestion. The closest I have is my laptop. It worked once, a while ago, then stopped working. I have an HDMI cable. I don't think I have anything else that will connect the two. I'll try it again.
I can stream Netflix right from the TV (and yes, I had to do the password with the remote, which required patience and dexterity!) but cannot find the place to add anything else, like Prime. So we subscribed to Netflix--$8.99/month. I figure we're saving that in going out less.
mr_lebowski
(33,643 posts)not allow you to use the keyboard and mouse for tv functions, as they'll not be available (they're not on your laptop, you see?).
If it's not available by default, Amazon will be an app you can add via the TV's 'app store' type dealie. Check the manual for how to download apps that aren't already included. I've put a bunch of them on my cheap TCL Roku TV, like Sunday Ticket and HBO Now. Unless you bought a REALLY cheap TV you should be able to add new apps
What kind is it?
And yeah, dealing w/f****** passwords with a TV remote does suck.

In the instruction manual, it doesn't mention anything about apps, and I don't see anything in any menus or lists. There IS way to connect to Google, so maybe I'd go to the App store there?
mr_lebowski
(33,643 posts)Yeah says no smart TV features ... I'm impressed you had netflix available on the TV frankly.
So ... nevermind, yeah you won't get amazon prime on the TV directly. Just by an amazon fire stick though and you'll be golden.

Note, very little or nothing comes 'free' with it but it lets you download TONS of apps for services you can subscribe to like Prime. I'm sure that app is already on it though actually

Charles Nelson Reilly for Match Game, and Paul Lynde on the Squares ... but they were always 'hinting' at it if you paid attention.
Richard Dawson was the best part of that show though (or at least I liked him best when I was watching it as a kid) ... but Charles was pretty great too, I remember he sat next to Brett Sommers (who was a special person to me as a kid ... she was the only one else in the world that I had a certain something in common with me, that I knew of ), and they used to mess w/other all the time, they were funny.

I'm so pleased to share!
BTW if you like Graham Norton, there's an episode from I think around 2016 where the winner painted him -- it followed their meetings and discussions and the final reveal (I've forgotten the proper word for it) at the gallery. It's also a sweeter side of Graham Norton.
Enjoy!

Watched the Hatfield's & McCoy's again, and keeping tabs with family and friends. Also working t lose weight and watching my eating much better now. Lost 60 lbs over the last 30 months and losing more. Staying isolated , and hoping everyone can make it through this safely. The Black Book , Reign of Terror , and Patterns ( a Rod Serling film) both free on You Tube and pretty good. Everyone stay safe and in and protect yourselves.
