Veterans, just for fun

What's your favorite/most hated military terms or phrases you remember from your term of service? I have several that I remember but I'm going with:

"It would behoove you to...".

March down memory lane and share your favorite.

Chief wants to see you

Find a better word for urine. CBPO chief thought "urine" was non PC. Would offend the delicate sensibilities of the ammo detachment.

Don't have any official ones. I was a Personnel puke. All personnel terms/phrases were hated.

We were Cav so we didn’t say that dumbshit but I really felt sorry for those who did.

When someone dropped something in the chow hall and someone yelled out AIRBORNE! I always thought that was funny.

This was especially popular in the early 90's, during the public debate on gays serving openly in the military.

I'm straight, but I was then, and am now, a strong supporter of gay rights. Such boneheaded, petty bigotry pissed me off.

I don't know but I've been told...
There's a girl from way out west...

Never got the "hoo" thing either
Like for "hand salute" the TI would shout "Hand Haloot!"

(I was in AF so Dis were TIs and barracks were dorms. Trying to be different I guess)

SPs for short... I don't know about nowadays, I was in during the Ford/Carter era (75-80) but they trained at Lackland next to the basic training squadrons. Used to watch them train for crowd/riot control. There were lots of Iranian military there at the time also. (this was during the shah's reign)

Also in basic we were trained how to handle M16s same day after we ran the obstacle course when we were all sweaty and tired.

Thank goodness the"square needle in the left you know what" turned out to be a hoax.

I'm that guy you hated because I ALWAYS found some "dirt". Especially so at my last duty station in a Basic Training unit.
