Have you purchased an item for 1 purpose, found it useless until you figured out another use for it?

During the TP rush at the beginning of quarantine, a hand bidet was acquired in the event of an emergency TP shortage. Now that TP seems to be in greater abundance these days, it seems that the lonely, unused hand bidet makes a very nice watering can for a container garden. The hope is that the neighbors won't recognize what it is!

But when it arrived I found that it was in 3" lengths.

It wasn't very useful, or so I thought.

I subsequently found out that it's great for destroying household pests.

If they're smaller than a mouse, I can hang them with it.

If they're larger than a mouse, I can flog them to death with it.

I hardly even need toilet paper.

One thing that was about useless was the battery charger I got when I bought a digital camera about 12 years ago. The camera ate those recharged battery's too fast to even bother with. So it sat there until I had a remote that uses AA's run out. I still had a couple of the recharged battery's ready to go and put those in. When I realized those would run a remote for a long time, I went and got a few more AA and AAA to have backups for all my remotes. I haven't bought new battery's since I got a smart phone. That made that old digital camera obsolete for most purposes.
