OMGOSH.......saw our first oriole.....

We actually have quit putting out grape jelly for them.......our Robins were eating it, and giving it to their babies. Then the babies wouldn’t let the orioles eat it. So we just stopped feeding them. We have two neighbors that put out jelly for them so at least they will have some.

The orioles loved it! I only ever saw them when the tree was fruiting. I never thought to feed them jelly. Growing up in West Virginia, we once found an abandoned oriole nest, which has a distinctive shape, in a tree on our property. The oriole had woven a bit of artificial grass of the type used in Easter baskets into its nest. They are beautiful birds!
