(6,581 posts)It got up to 105 here in July of 1995. That was a real trip. The heat was broken by a storm with giant hail about the size of baseballs. We got new roofs and siding on Allstate out of that one. I was about 10 miles away when it hit, only had torrential rain there, so my car was spared.

(68,644 posts)My house is small but on a river so typically a bit cooler, my central air is ancient and not working (Leo, call me back) but I have a window unit and two portables, and if I have to I'll crawl into a tub of cool water!
Oh, and fans fans fans and lots of water to drink!

(30,947 posts)Fortunately, our temperatures have never gone quite that high in the summer. My only suggestion is to stay inside in the A/C, which is what I do in the summer because I hate heat and I hate to sweat.

That's a pretty cool interactive map, by the way, similar to the pop-ups Weather Underground gives for thunderstorms on their "Wunderground Radar"
Hope you survived
