One of my homeless patients has lost twenty pounds and is refusing food. The local hospice won't take him because he's homeless. (How do you like that? Not only does he not have to place to live, he has no place to die!)

This country is so full of disempathetic people...

It’s bottom shelf and I don’t get it. 11.99 a bottle. 93 proof, smooth, with a faint cherry aftertaste. Fucking delicious. I give two fucks what shelf it’s on. Actually, bottom shelf is good! 2 bottles to one bottle of Jameson...St. Patty strike me down.

I’ve moved away from bourbon in the last few years to Irish whiskey and micro distillery rums. Definitely tryBlackheart. I know the low price may be a turnoff. But I’m telling you man. Delish.

I used to dislike bourbon, or thought I did, while my brother thought to himself "More for me." But I've really come to enjoy bourbon lately. Just finished a bottle of Old Forester; terrific. Smooth, pleasant, a nice way to end the day.

I'm still a single malt man, though; the peatier, the better; like a good bottle of Lagavulin. It smells like a campfire when you crack the seal.

Fortunately, I haven't had to face down any of the slavering hoard of this-is-a-hoaxer-ers, gun crazies, and I-need-a-manicures.

The medical personnel who are standing up to these fuckwaddles are the real heroes...

Do I need physician assistant's approval?

I'm open to suggestions as to specific brands or flavors diffused in the liquor.

I'm having Skyy vodka mixed with cherry-passion fruit juice tonight.

I used to mix that with 7-Up when I went to some parties after I graduated college. I had a 1974 Monte Carlo so I would keep a blanket and a pillow in the back seat in case it was needed and the campus cops never bothered me.

I don't handle my alcohol as well now that I'm approaching 55 than I did when I was in my early twenties.

The nice part was that I could mix up a drink in a plastic cup and walk around the frat house or outside to the dorms nearby without any hassle. I had platonic relationships with a group of four girls in one suite. One weekend, two of the girls were out for the weekend so they allowed me to stay in their room for the night, so my last dorm sleepover was at the ripe old age of 34.

The liquor store that I frequent is small so they may not have it. I might have to try a larger chain store like Spec's in College Station, but that would also entail a bus ride and I haven't even gotten aboard a bus in the eight months I lived here. Thanks for the suggestion.

Kept me out of work for about ten days. I was tested for COVID-19 and it was negative. Had a taste of self-isolation while I was at it. I don't know what the Trumpanzees are complaining about; I enjoyed the break.

But work is taking its toll again. I don't have it as bad as the emergency room and urgent care providers. A patient died last week of liver failure. As usual, the hospital where he died sent me a perfunctory "Oh, by the way..." note. That's always how I find out. I've got another patient who doesn't have long.

As always, my DU friends keep me sane and encouraged...

I don't remember if it was determined yet that you had bronchitis at that time, but I knew that you're self-care would go well.

Losing patients has to be difficult for you, try to hang in there.
