I have discovered my wife can be a very sore loser when we play Monopoly together.

(7,637 posts)I am always busy at work but since ive been in quarantine with my wife who is a stay at home, we really enjoy being together and doing projects around the house and yard. Some couple discover that being away most of the day is better for them, we found out that both of us being home is something we enjoy. Our pets love it too.

(28,847 posts)We found we still enjoy each others company. We laugh a lot.
Maybe I learned, hes a better housekeeper than I thought.
Anyway, guiltily, we are having a great quarantine. We even got the $2400 in time to put a new transmission in our car.

(54,445 posts)I'm not stuck here because I want to be, but I don't get a choice in the matter, and I just don't see any point in banging my head against the wall in furustration, seeing as how it won't change anything.
Although we met in 1974, we didn't get married until 1982. There were some logistics problems (she lived in the Ruhr Valley of Germany at the time, and I was in Boston). Luckily my brother saved us the trouble and invited us to our own wedding. Well, actually it was his wedding, and we were asked if we wanted to tag along and make it a double wedding, which we did. The three sets of parents were from the USA, Japan and Germany, and none of them spoke the others' languages. There was a fair amount of sign language going on.
I didn't get any money, and my wife is a German citizen, so she won't getting any either, but I have put enough away for that not to be a worry for the moment. I don't even know what the requirements are, but I'm not going to chase after it if I don't need it. Leave it for people who can use it. Better you than me!

(54,445 posts)Born in Alexandria, VA, grew up there, then moved to Spain, then a brief spell in Massachusetts, then 5 years in Philadelphia (college, plus a year off). Then recruited by my outfit, working out of the Boston area, and then commuting between Europe and the USA (Boston until the end of 1982, then Dallas), until I moved my residence here to Germany permanently in 2011. I have a sister and a daughter in the NYC area, and a brother in the Langley area. I'm glad he's still there, because I'd miss losing my connection to my roots, not to mention not needing to sleep in a hotel when I visit my DC friends, of which we still have many.

Everything has been great and we feel we came home.

(16,334 posts)This is not something I'd buy on a regular basis. We are low-salt people and HE (not me) is a very healthy food eater. I only ever bought them when one of the kids was going to be home and even then as a treat.
He went to Costco at the start of quarantine and came home with a giant bag of chips and he ate them. A LOT of them! He's never been a stress eater and the sight of him reaching into a bag of potato chips is new to me.
