I’m still traumatized by the car vs ducking incident in front of our house about 10 years ago. Mom and dad duck lay their eggs in a neighboring property and then mom brings her brood down the road on our dangerous curve to get to the water way down in the gulley.

That year, her brood didn’t all make it. I took a duckling that had been left behind in for the night but he/she died before the Audubon society opened the next morning.
