I've been away for a while and went back to Acorn tv and have found lots of gems. Just saw the six episode Dead Still that was spectacular, if you like macabre, Victorian detective shows.

(7,850 posts)Acorn tv introduced me to all things subtitled..love scandi noir, anything from Wales, Italian drama, French police procedurals...anything...waiting for another season of No Offence...I've accumulated streaming services from just about anywhere...Walter Presents, Viki, Britbox, MHZ...this is my way of traveling the world...from a chair...

(17,006 posts)The Indian Doctor is also very good. Polishing Up was great with spectacular scenery.

(66,380 posts)They're not quite as good as the Phryne Fisher Mysteries (Miss Fisher's cheekbones alone could have carried the show...) but still pretty good. I was unaware that Australia's 1960's pop culture was so similar to ours. When Mrs. Aristus saw that there were only four episodes in the first season, I told her it must be due to the expense for the production values, which are incredible.
Anyway, we're going to finish off the episodes over the holiday weekend, and then maybe try The Indian Doctor.

(2,566 posts)I'd never heard of it. 80s antique dealer, an ever-so-slightly corrupt good guy. Lots of fun. Season 2 he has a mullet--it's distracting me, but we're sticking with it.

(17,622 posts)...right now Im trying to make it thru Tales of/from The Loop. Its a sci fi series on Amazon prime. The other night my Echo Show started playing it all by itself!!!..kinda freaky but I just went with it. Its a bit slow but picks up enough from time to time to keep my interest.
ACORN is what dtr told recommended when I wanted to watch the Latest Doc Martin.
