In 76 years, I have never had a grocery bag break at the bottom because it got wet from the condensation on the milk bottles. It did today. The bottom was soaked and fell apart. They great mystery is, why doesn't this happen all the time? Any ideas?

P.S. It might have happened in the first 4 or 5 of those 76 years... I can't be totally sure.

(22,099 posts)You could actually stack them across your back seat, they are biodegradable, hold a lot more, and you can use them for lots of other things. Plastic bags get holes in them all the time (really nasty when you're cleaning the litter box).
I've been using my own bags for awhile now, and get really pissed at myself when I forget and leave them in the truck. These days, I wash them after each grocery trip.

I've been getting paper bags during pick-ups, so they obviously have them!
Sorry that happened to you, by the way!

I'm thinking the people who are suggesting deteriorating paper quality may be right.
