Sunday is National Ice Cream Day.

You can't say everything Reagan did was wrong.

In a normal year, I think you could go get a freebie cone or scoop at the U.S. Capitol. I don't think that's happening this year.

Catch some movies outdoors, celebrate National Ice Cream Day, and more things to do around town this weekend. https://dcist.com/story/20/07/16/dc-weekend-events-guide-sunflowers-ice-cream-movies/

National Ice Cream Day 2020 is Sunday, July 19.

It is celebrated annually the third Sunday in July. It was created by President Ronald Reagan in 1984. The proclamation reads, “Ice cream is a nutritious and wholesome food, enjoyed by over 90 percent of the people in the United States. It enjoys a reputation as the perfect dessert and snack food. Over eight hundred and eighty-seven million gallons of ice cream were consumed in the United States in 1983.”

The proclamation also states, “I call upon the people of the United States to observe these events with appropriate ceremonies and activities.”

What could be a better observance than getting deals on ice cream?
