Been to the Ren Faire a buncha times but not Highland Games.

(115,731 posts)It was a fun event. There was even a student bagpipe band, and I got kind of addicted to bagpipe music, which should not be played indoors. Had a friend who got pretty good at the pipes and used to wander around the neighborhood playing "When The Saints Go Marching In."

The image of three hundred fifty pound men wearing dresses and tossing capers is comedy gold.
I will miss our games as well. There was something eerily cool about waking up hearing bagpipes.
