This morning I got a call from Russia...

This is the second time this has happened. I was asleep and didn't answer. The number on my call log is not a U.S. number and underneath the number it says "Russia". Anybody else getting calls like this?

The numbers are local to New York State but the voice mail is in Chinese.

I want to follow your OP to see whether others are getting calls from Russia.

Have had a few of them, no idea what they are saying. I don't answer it, but they do leave a message

They call from India, or who knows where, but the "caller ID" that we see on our phone makes it look like a local call. I hate that! I never answer a call if there's no name attached to the caller ID. I just let it go to voicemail. MOST of the spam callers never leave a message anyway - because they don't want us to ID them to the phone company.

If a caller really was a friend, I return their call and they always understand.
