This is the second time this has happened. I was asleep and didn't answer. The number on my call log is not a U.S. number and underneath the number it says "Russia". Anybody else getting calls like this?

(21,857 posts)The numbers are local to New York State but the voice mail is in Chinese.
I want to follow your OP to see whether others are getting calls from Russia.

(1,773 posts)I think that is why they used it. I will never know who has t was, they did not leave a message.

(32,791 posts)They call from India, or who knows where, but the "caller ID" that we see on our phone makes it look like a local call. I hate that! I never answer a call if there's no name attached to the caller ID. I just let it go to voicemail. MOST of the spam callers never leave a message anyway - because they don't want us to ID them to the phone company.
If a caller really was a friend, I return their call and they always understand.
