(A sad few may have had a bad encounter, but IMO, the majority are equally uncaring about humans).

I dog sat my mother in laws dog one night last week. I noticed she had a new collar. I said Brandy, I love your new collar!
She side eyed me and says Boh rurh.
It sounded just like thank you.

She told me he did this, but I didn't get to hear it for myself until we started doing Zoom lessons. She sings something and if the dog is in the room or not far away I hear "Aauooooo!" in the background.
