I can't help it... there is something about the absolute awfulness and cheesiness of them that I love. I will watch Dinocroc vs Megashark anyday over some of the shit on network tv

meh... my husband makes fun of me for it, but its my dirty secret

I hardly see anything remotely close to SCI FI stuff on that channel...unless the folks at the dictionary place re-crafted the word Sci Fi to mean Animals/Wild things eating/killing stuff.....Super-Half Pirhana Aligator Super Croc vs. Super-Half Snake-Raccoon II!!!! This time they mean bizness!

About the only time I catch anything SCIFI is late at night/early morning when they play some classic Twilight Zones....

It went downhill when those brilliant minds decided to screw it up.
Try Chiller or FearNet. They're pretty good for the other stuff that used to be on SciFi.

But I think they went wrong when they stopped airing classic Dr. Who back in the 90's. About the only thing good they did was rescue Mystery Science Theater 3000 which gave us some of the best storylines MST3K ever did.

The official(!) reason for it was that the owners thought science fiction was lame, and that if they changed the name they could start shifting the focus to, say, wrestling.

You have to hire quality writers, directors, actors, etc., and when you don't, it looks real bad, often comically bad.
