Orchid has fans.

Out walking the dog several blocks from the house. We came upon a group of kids & adults out for their own walk. I didn't recognize them, but we exchanged the normal "Hi, howareyas" as we passed by each other. As we passed, two of the girls - 7-8 yrs old - came up to me & the dog. One girl asked "Is that a Pit Bull?", and I said "Yes". Then she asked "Is that Pit Bull named Orchid?"

"Yes, her name is Orchid." (By now, the kids were petting her & she was happy wallowing in their attention.) "How did you know her name was Orchid?"

"Well, we've seen her walking around the neighborhood." Note: They didn't say they saw the dog and me - just the dog. And given that the dog doesn't wander the neighborhood by herself, in the kids' eyes I must be just part of the anonymous posse that the Diva Orchid must gather around herself.

I wonder when the paparazzi start showing up?

She is a gorgeous girl! I remember seeing earlier pictures of her, too.

A paphiopedilum is a species of orchid, of course.

Here's an example of a bulldog paph - not one of mine, and not my photo:
