The kalimba is a version of the mbira, an African instrument that has been part of sub-Saharan culture for more than 800 years. I just bought a Hugh Tracey alto kalimba like the one in this You Tube video. I hope I can learn to play as well as Mark Holdaway does in the video, but Id settle for half as well, or even okay.

Mark Holdaway is a master kalimba player, and I think he plays other instruments too. If he's from Tuscon, I'd say he helped make it a magic town for music.
