Universal Studios: ‘Walking Dead’ will live at Halloween Horror Nights

The popular, zombie-based “Walking Dead” television series will be incorporated into this year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios, the theme park announced Wednesday.

The show, which airs on AMC and was spun off from a comic book, features mobs of flesh-hungry zombies — a.k.a. “walkers.” Those characters and show environments will be part of one of the event’s haunted mazes.

“ ‘The Walking Dead’ puts real people in incredibly horrific situations where they experience true, raw fear, and guests at Halloween Horror Nights experience the same thing,” says Jim Timon, senior vice president of entertainment at Universal Orlando.

Universal announced over the weekend that it would be using scenes and characters from the Silent Hill video game and films in a haunted house this year.
