2) If you ate at an expensive restaurant where the food was terrible but the service was great, what kind of tip would you leave?

3) You are told that you MUST taste one of these three food products from around the world -- "Rocky Mountain Oysters," (Bull's testicles), "Balut" (boiled duck embryo), or "Casu marzu" AKA "Formaggio marcio" (a pungent cheese made in Sardinia that is known for the extra crunch of live maggots) -- which would you choose and why?

4) Would you drive three miles out of your way to save 10 cents a gallon on gas?

5) What is the last book you read?

6) Are the majority of your meals home-cooked from scratch, pre-cooked heat and serve convenience foods, or restaurant/carry out meals?

1) What pets do you own? Dog, cat, bird, fish, reptile, ferret, other? I don't own any pets. My 2 cats would be very angry if I said something like that.

2) If you ate at an expensive restaurant where the food was terrible but the service was great, what kind of tip would you leave? If the food was that wretched I would have returned it; however, I would still start at 15% and increase it based on the service. Not like the waitperson cooked the food.

Well if you think about it I eat about 4-6 Chick embryos every week and I like duck. SO I think could manage eating the Balut.

4) Would you drive three miles out of your way to save 10 cents a gallon on gas? Yes. 3 miles is nothing. I wouldn't drive 30 miles though.

5) What is the last book you read? The Fifty Shades of Grey triology. Erotica written at a 7th grade reading level. Read the first book and knew it was bad writing but had to read the other 2 because no one posted the story plot line on Wiki

6) Are the majority of your meals home-cooked from scratch, pre-cooked heat and serve convenience foods, or restaurant/carry out meals? I cook from scratch but the meals are pretty basic

7) Who was the better "minor" character on 'Seinfeld'? Newman, J. Peterman, or David Puddy? NEWMAN

8) The National Weather Service just issued a severe thunderstorm warning for your location. Do you run to the basement to hide, or run outside to watch? I unplug everything and then hide under the covers of my bed. I have a fear of electrical storms.

9) Would you ever go bungee jumping? Sure

10) What should Question 10) be??? If a picture paints 1000 words then why can't I paint you?

11) Bonus question -- You just accidentally killed Kenny. Are you still a bastard if it was an accident? I'm a woman therefore impossible to be a bastard. I'd be a bitch instead!

Two small dogs, Chihuahua and mini-Pinscher. Had 2 boa constructors, but had to get rid of the because they tried to eat the dogs.

2) If you ate at an expensive restaurant where the food was terrible but the service was great, what kind of tip would you leave?
The minimum of 10 percent.

5) What is the last book you read?
Marley and Me.

7) Who was the better "minor" character on 'Seinfeld'? Newman, J. Peterman, or David Puddy?
Couldn't say. I never watched Seinfield.

8) The National Weather Service just issued a severe thunderstorm warning for your location. Do you run to the basement to hide, or run outside to watch?
Don't have a basement. I live in a mobile home, so I just hunker down and hope for the best.

Jul 2012

I'd run it daily but I can't think of that many good questions like the previous hosts.

1.)A theoretical cat. I say that because I live in a no-pets building and after 9 years, I doubt my cat knows that she's my cat and not my parents' cat.

2.) 20%. It's almost never the servers' fault the kitchen is awful. servers should be assessed on their service.

3.) Sorry, I'm pulling the vegan card here.

4.) If I drove? Maybe.

5.) Some textbook on Public Relations. I think the title was This is PR which is a good thing because I thought it was a dissertation on spaghetti farming.

6.) Some mixture of the above. I cook when I can but I usually can't get near the kitchen.

7.) I've never seen Seinfeld because I always hated his act, knew from the get-go that George was basically Larry David, have never been able to stand Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Kramer seemed from the commercials the sort of neighbor I'd have to throat-punch to death. Thus I have to say Newman only because I know that he was the foil of every member of the main cast.

8.) I'm on the porch watching.

9.) No. I prefer base-jumping.

10.) I don't know but the answer is "Bananas! B!-A!-N!-A!-N!-A!-S! Bananas!"

Bonus: No, I'm a goddamned hero.

Dog West Highland named Dogg Cat Tuxedo named Psoghi (Sophie for the phonetically challenged) Beta fish named Charlie.

2) If you ate at an expensive restaurant where the food was terrible but the service was great, what kind of tip would you leave?

9. 10 Questions
Wed Jul 25, 2012, 09:32 PM
Jul 2012

1) What pets do you own? Dog, cat, bird, fish, reptile, ferret, other?

One stray Cat I picked up 2 years ago during a cold winter.

2) If you ate at an expensive restaurant where the food was terrible but the service was great, what kind of tip would you leave?

20%, never go back and write nasty reviews about the crappy food but good service.

Bull's testicles, it is meat, if you cook it right I'll eat a pig's asshole. Duck embryo still looks like something/has a face I don't eat faces as a general rule. I also don't eat things that are still alive as a general rule, bacteria and the like don't count wiggly/squiggly maggots do however, kill them and cook them right and I'll eat them.

4) Would you drive three miles out of your way to save 10 cents a gallon on gas?

Nope.

5) What is the last book you read?

Star Wars: Deceived A book based in the SWTOR MMO timeperiod that covered several characters from the trailer of the same name.

6) Are the majority of your meals home-cooked from scratch, pre-cooked heat and serve convenience foods, or restaurant/carry out meals?

Home-cooked but I use instant crap like rice/canned/frozen foods as sides.

7) Who was the better "minor" character on 'Seinfeld'? Newman, J. Peterman, or David Puddy?

If Peterman had a larger/longer role he'd win just by being interesting but since his run was shorter/smaller I give it to Puddy. Patrick Warburton was too good as that lout.

8) The National Weather Service just issued a severe thunderstorm warning for your location. Do you run to the basement to hide, or run outside to watch?

Run outside.

9) Would you ever go bungee jumping?

Not unless I was high and or dying.

10) What should Question 10) be???

What would the first thing you'd do when aliens land on the planet?

11) Bonus question -- You just accidentally killed Kenny. Are you still a bastard if it was an accident?

1) What pets do you own? Dog, cat, bird, fish, reptile, ferret, other?
A well-trained male.

2) If you ate at an expensive restaurant where the food was terrible but the service was great, what kind of tip would you leave?
It wasn't the waiter's fault. It was the cook's fault. As long as it was well-served, I'd give the waiter the usual tip.

Maggots freak me out. Duck embryo is just nasty. Bull's balls it is. Just close my eyes and use my imagination and chow down LOL.

4) Would you drive three miles out of your way to save 10 cents a gallon on gas?
Hell to the no!

5) What is the last book you read?
The new Anne Rice book called "The Wolf Gift". Just finished it last night.

6) Are the majority of your meals home-cooked from scratch, pre-cooked heat and serve convenience foods, or restaurant/carry out meals?
Home-cooked from scratch. I take good care of my well-trained male. Tonight I made almond string beans, broiled salmon and stuffed clams.

7) Who was the better "minor" character on 'Seinfeld'? Newman, J. Peterman, or David Puddy?
Never thought that show was even remotely funny. Watched it once with a blank face and trust me, I laugh at everything!

8) The National Weather Service just issued a severe thunderstorm warning for your location. Do you run to the basement to hide, or run outside to watch?
Watch and see how bad it gets and if it gets bad run to the basement to hide.

9) Would you ever go bungee jumping?
Hell to the no!

10) What should Question 10) be???
Do you like answering random questions?

11) Bonus question -- You just accidentally killed Kenny. Are you still a bastard if it was an accident?
Depends on what kind of accident it was. If you accidentally pushed Kenny out of a window or accidentally bludgeoned him with a Louisville Slugger, then you fall into the bastard zone.

8) The National Weather Service just issued a severe thunderstorm warning for your location. Do you run to the basement to hide, or run outside to watch? This is Oklahoma, baby! I get out my emergency radio, flashlights, and prepare the tornado closet!

9) Would you ever go bungee jumping? Not just "no," but "FUCK NO!"

10) What should Question 10) be??? What would you do with half a million dollars?

11) Bonus question -- You just accidentally killed Kenny. Are you still a bastard if it was an accident? I am a bastard anyway, so it is beside the point.

It was over 100 here today, again, and a little bit ago, a severe t-storm warning was issued fir a nearby county. I checked the weather online, and while it was still 90+ here, the county with the storm was 81 degrees.

The wind just kicked up here (no warning but some lightning), so of *course* I ran outside to watch the weather. The temp dropped 12 degrees while I sat on my patio over the last 10 minutes.

Now...all we need is some rain!

1) What pets do you own? Dog, cat, bird, fish, reptile, ferret, other?

1 cat, 2 dogs

2) If you ate at an expensive restaurant where the food was terrible but the service was great, what kind of tip would you leave?

30% and I would let management know what I thought about the food.

The cheese, because Ohiosmith has tried the others.

4) Would you drive three miles out of your way to save 10 cents a gallon on gas?

no

5) What is the last book you read?

Inside the Criminal Mind

6) Are the majority of your meals home-cooked from scratch, pre-cooked heat and serve convenience foods, or restaurant/carry out meals?

home-cooked from scratch

7) Who was the better "minor" character on 'Seinfeld'? Newman, J. Peterman, or David Puddy?

Newman

8) The National Weather Service just issued a severe thunderstorm warning for your location. Do you run to the basement to hide, or run outside to watch?

1) What pets do you own? Dog, cat, bird, fish, reptile, ferret, other? None

2) If you ate at an expensive restaurant where the food was terrible but the service was great, what kind of tip would you leave? 25%

"Balut", because I could convince myself it's "just like eggs"

4) Would you drive three miles out of your way to save 10 cents a gallon on gas? I don't drive, but maybe if I had a 40 gallon tank, yeah

5) What is the last book you read? "A Feast For Crows", and let me tell ya I'm getting tired of those books

6) Are the majority of your meals home-cooked from scratch, pre-cooked heat and serve convenience foods, or restaurant/carry out meals? For the past few months, restaurant/take-out

7) Who was the better "minor" character on 'Seinfeld'? Newman, J. Peterman, or David Puddy? This is a tough one. Peterman was so over the top, and I love love loved the announcer-man voice. Puddy was the opposite: understated would be an understatement. But Newman, he was pure evil but at the same time totally ineffectual. I'd have to go with Newman because he was two-dimensional as opposed to one-dimensional like the other two guys

8) The National Weather Service just issued a severe thunderstorm warning for your location. Do you run to the basement to hide, or run outside to watch? Basement? What's a basement? (SoCal baby. Yeah!)

9) Would you ever go bungee jumping? Oh HAY-ull no

10) What should Question 10) be??? It's already "What should Question 10) be???", and that's good enough for me

11) Bonus question -- You just accidentally killed Kenny. Are you still a bastard if it was an accident? Totally

20. I'm experiencing some sort of test anxiety, I think.

.
.
.
1. Pets? None -- If I weren't on a "no-pets lease", I would have a cat (it took almost 2 years after
losing NoName before I could say that).
.
.
.
2. Restaurant? Great tip... I tip the waitperson, not the chef. And having BEEN a bartender at one
point, I tend to overtip. But I WILL tip absolutely nothing for shitty service.
.
.
.
3. Must taste? If at gunpoint, Rocky Mountain Oysters. I would probably spend the next three weeks
or so apologizing to the boys.
.
.
.
4. Saving money? No. When I was a child, MiddleFingerMomDad would drag me along on these
"shopping excursions" and I would be bored to fucking tears while he spent the vast majority of a
Saturday driving pretty literally all over town trying to save $2 on what he was looking for. Although
I've learned to live frugally NOW due to circumstances, I was never a very wise shopper (except for
groceries).
.
.
.
5. Last book? "I am Not a Serial Killer" by Dan Wells. Received high reviews and fairly well-written, but
I didn't like it (apparently along with many) because it unexpectedly mixed the genres of crime-thriller
and horror fantasy. It was the author's first novel and eventually part of a trilogy, so I MAY give him
another shot -- now that I KNOW what to expect.
.
.
.
6. Meals? Home-cooked from scratch due to both finances and dietary restrictions (sodium/sugar).
I've always been a pretty good cook (and enjoyed cooking). MiddleFingerMomMom taught me the
basic survival cooking skills and my ex-wife was a great cook -- and when we divorced, I realized
that in order to keep eating food that good, I was going to have to learn to do it myself. My friends
often referred to me as a gourmet cook. I wasn't, but I was a good and adventurous one.
.
.
.
7. Seinfeld character? Newman, but only because I wasn't a big fan and he's the only character of
those 3 that I recall.
.
.
.
8.Severe weather? Outside. I grew up on the fringe of a tornado alley in Michigan, and we got fairly
regular tornado warnings. If the winds were really HOWLING, we would go down into our unfinished
cinderblock basement and wait there for things to calm down. Once, my folks noticed that I had
disappeared. MiddleFingerMomDad found me in the front yard, clinging to the trunk of a large tree
and hoping that I would actually SEE a tornado. Now, Tucson is one of the BEST places I have lived
for thunderstorms, in intensity and frequency and variety of lightning during our summer monsoon
storms and I OFTEN go outside to stand in them.
.
.
.
9. Bungee? No, I would have, but the complications following my open-heart surgery leave me VERY
unsure of whether or not my sternum would simply tear apart under that much strain. I DO jump
down off the curb now and then. WHEEEE!!!!
.
.
.
10. Question 10? A multi-part question.
Who put the bomp
In the bomp bah bomp bah bomp
Who put the ram
In the rama lama ding dong
.
Who put the bop
In the bop shoo bop shoo bop
Who put the dip
In the dip da dip da dip
.
Who was that man, I'd like to shake his hand
He made my baby fall in love with me [Yeah]
.
The answer, of course... is MiddleFingerMom. And you're welcome.
.
.
.
11. Killed Kenny? Yes. Yes, I would be.
