I just saw an ad for yet another Will Ferrell movie, that is supposed to be "funny."
(It's about a political campaign that gets really ugly.)
It's not funny in the least.
Why is Hollywood so eager to continue throwing money down the rathole that is Will Ferrell?

(21,078 posts)"not getting it." He must be related to someone in the biz, or has pictures, lots of them. He is not funny, he is boorish.

(1,831 posts)But he's not. His performances are stupid, and dull.
*edited to read "His performances are", rather than "He is" *

(12,296 posts)Whenever I see Ferrell, I think of W (because of his SNL portrayals) and absolutely nothing either of them could ever do would endear them to me.

(23,340 posts)Ferrell can be hysterically funny.

(36,361 posts)My then wife and I really really laughed during the part where he came of with the idea to wear over the top eye shadow in order to intimidate the opposing players. Well, he and his players sweat so much during game, the eye shadow got in their eyes and they were crying and playing blind!

(29,322 posts)He was hilarious in Old School and Taledega Nights.
I hated Night at the Roxbury and mostly earlier stuff.

So lighten up.

(30,885 posts)Same for Adam Sandler, which I can't even begin to explain.
Pauly Shore had a career, too (but it helped that his mommy was a Hollywood casting agent).

(12,132 posts)I love him that much.
Especially ELf and Anchorman but Talladega and Old School too. I don't consider Roxbury to be a WF movie - it's an SNL skit expanded to movie length and has Will in it. But I'm down for anything else Will Ferrell does.

(12,008 posts)I hated him at first, because SNL was unwatchably bad when he was on it, but I've since seen some good movies that he's been in. Zoolander was so good that I forgot he was in it. Anchorman was also good, and I think Elf is great. He's been in more bad movies than good movies though.

(20,166 posts)but I'm not a big fan of his, regardless.
I saw his "Best of SNL" collection...It had its moments (some of his Bush parodies can be humorous), but, whew, it wore thin quickly. Same with his movies. I find myself laughing at times, but just not very often.

(14,560 posts)..a young single girl and some guy played guitar and sang that awesome Wreckless Eric song TO me
I'd, also, be all over him
And the way that scene transforms musically to the Wreckless Eric recording is magical..so good on that, Will.
