Is that a female pony on the left? If so, the judgmental Chik-Fil-A cow makes sense. MiddleFingerMom Aug 2012 #2

That mentions that there are a lot of middle aged males who LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that show.

I don't understand it. I sincerely don't...

It's just a silly TV show, that has some humor that will sail over the kids' heads.

The older MLP shows were pretty much overdoses of the "cute factor."

This one can be quite funny.

I just sincerely don't understand it.
I must admit that I never tried to as my interests are found elsewhere.

Maybe when my niece starts watching, I'll look it up.

"Discord" (a creature of pure chaos) is voiced by none other than John DeLancie. ("Q" from Star Trek The Next Generation)

Well, he has always been my favored Super Being. Trelane was too annoying.
Then again, I am a Piccard guy after all.

I'll try to watch that at home.

Trelane was some super being that Captain Kirk dealt with in the Original Star Trek.
There was a huge mess with him in the books.
Then there was a time Q and Trelane were comparing who was the better captain.

and a brony. He did the art for the nametags and autograph cards at the Bronycon - or whatever the hell it was called - in NYC last month.

While fixing one of my computers he showed me a couple of episodes. The animation and voice acting are first-rate and it's cute without being sappy. Like any really good animated series it has gags which will quite intentionally soar over the heads of the target audience (see Powerpuff Girls, Billy and Mandy, Rocky and Bullwinkle for other examples) and make parents and old animation geeks laugh.

The show was developed by Lauren Faust, who was a writer/storyboard artist on Powerpuff; she's married to PPG creator Craig McCracken.

Yes I am an old animation geek.

I got in to Samurai Jack.

I haven't been happy lately with the quality of animation that are American releases lately.
Then again, when comparing it with anime which I got in to back in the 90s, I think it is understandable.

Sadly, didn't get in to "Billy and Mandy, Rocky and Bullwinkle"
Although Power Puff Girls, I did get in to a little bit. However, since I barely watch television for years now, I can't really say much for myself.
