True Blood Recap - Folks, I'm really sorry but it's been a rough week in RL

Usually by this time each week I've seen the episode about 3 times. This week I've only seen it once and bits and pieces here. Probably a combination of a rough week at work plus the Olympics snaking my time.

So this week let's just do an open discussion.

This was the week that Stephen Moyer directed (Bill) and honestly, he did a good job. What I did like was that all these various storylines started to link up together to make the show much more cohesive.

Like Terry/Arlene dealing with their smoke monster. Now we brought in Lafayette, the medium, and he was able to channel the Iraqi woman that was murdered (along with her family) by Terry, Patrick and the others in that group of soldiers - Between Patrick and Terry one of them must die. Personally, I'd like it if they'd both took the gun to Arlene but that's just my 2 cents.

It's interesting how the relationship between Bill and Eric have evolved over 5 seasons. These 2 started off as rivals for Sookie and Bill was the one that wanted mainstreaming whereas Eric tolerated it but didn't bother with the True Blood. My guess is True Blood is like a human who enjoys drinking crafted beers but then being forced to only drink Superbrew 15. Sure Superbrew 15 will get you drunk like the other beers but you definitely won't enjoy it. However now it seems that Bill has evolved more into someone like Eric who thinks that True Blood factories should be destroyed and force Vampires to go back to drinking humans. Personally I don't think many vampires drank True Blood unless they happened to be out in public and in a social situation. Even Nan Flanigan enjoyed the thigh vein of a comely female fangbanger. But it seems that Eric is the new Bill because not only is he seeing thru all this Lilith Bullshit (on the idea that the vampires, after consuming Lilith's blood, actually saw her - Eric said "We were fucking high as kite". I'm sure all of us, while under the influence of a lil something-something have seen God at one time or another). And from what the previews have show me I think he may be the only one who will protect Sookie from the vampires. Eric is the new Bill.

Seriously PUL-LEASE let Russell and Steve Newlin hook up. They are a match made in Vampire Heaven!

I posted earlier this week about my thoughts as to who is leading the Supe Haters. Remember, the Shifters aren't out in public so whomever is leading them would have to have knowledge of Shifters which is why I think it's Maxine Fortenberry leading the pack. She was aware of shifters because she was the one that took in Sam's lil brother Tommy (both are shifters) and I'm guessing that in the year she kept Tommy that she found out about shifters. We know that Maxine has a grudge with Vampires and she's been in that store where Sam found one of the haters. I'm guessing we are gonna see more of Maxine in the following weeks and that's a total win for all of us! I wonder if that ex-girlfriend of Hoyt's is involved. I thought it was a very tender moment between Hoyt and Jessica, in silver, when Hoyt asked what happened to the love. Jessica was so sincere about how she prayed for it to come back but it didn't. I think Hoyt still hates her but realizes he cannot kill his first love so instead he helped rescue her.

Ok that's it for this lame edition of the True Blood recap. I do promise better next week!

We are indebted to you, LynneSin. Goddess of the Lounge.

Pam and Tara, wow, just wow. Everyone is always so caught up on sexual angles that they forget the incredible "human" dynamics when you have a strong mother and daughter connection. Pam is full of complication. "You don't know me well enough. My happy and my sad face are the same." Or something to that effect. I want to send an edible flower arrangement to the writer that keeps coming up with lines for the two of them.

And we got La-la back! Did you see how he got all grand dam in Arlene and the witch's face when he asked for money to do the seance?

I don't mind seeing more of Sam, either. I always thought he was underused as a puppy dog type that didn't have teeth. But he's turning into major basset hound with a grudge. Love it!

Thanks again! Appreciate that you took the time.

I just love me some Maxine. I like the Obama mask wearing group though, the way they are presented as a hate group that support each other in their hate. I actually think this is a unifying factor for ReTHUGs right now.

Newlin and Russell would be hilarious together, I can see that happening. Though Russell likes 'em young and fem, Newlin has the young part and he isn't gonna out macho anyone. Plus, I want to see more of Jason and Jessica, I really think they have chemistry.

Thanks for the recap! Good ideas/theories.
