Damn. Damn. Now I have to tune in next week to find out if Gitzy lives. Damn.

(2,682 posts)Whatever happened to the pig happened some time ago. Weigh the issues -- suffering the uneducated loud-mouth child vs. the insignificant curiosity over the pig.
I haven't watched the program. I could barely keep my lunch down when a commercial for the show came on. Couldn't turn the channel fast enough. It's embarrassing to see the depths of degradation people will go to to get money.

(46,764 posts)people are showing. But, then, really, I understand their incentive more than I do many of the reality shows where people resort to the worst of their human qualities.

(46,764 posts)My guess is that they figured out their time in the pageants was limited. The last criticism they received in the pageants was that Honey Boo Boo (Alana) was too uncouth (Not exactly the right word, but something like that) So they signed a contract, and I bet that contract is going to produce a show where Alana comes out ahead with charm school qualities.
Look for the character arc. It's the only thing that will keep this show alive.

I really can't stand those shows. I think I made it through 10 minutes of 1 episode.

(46,764 posts)I think she's showing a maternal side, though I won't tell her that out loud. Competition does not bother her since she has been in competitive sports her entire youth. I think she can relate to it as a competition and, watching the kids come up with comments that are beyond their years.

I find the whole concept of beauty pageants kind of weird. Scholarships can be obtained without prancing around in a bathing suit & evening gown.
I'm glad your daughter enjoys sports, and wish her continued success.

My daughter is grown now. She's now entered into the adult world, making a living for herself. Thank God she got a job.

(20,277 posts)shows provide plenty of material. Watching the crash & burn from a very safe distance is a good plan. Maybe people do learn something from them - as in 'what not to do'.
I'm glad your daughter is working. So many aren't these days.
