The parents of Xander Vento, a little boy who was forced under the water while saving another child at a neighborhood pool in Fort Worth, Texas, earlier this week, says they are taking their son off of life support.
Cris and Misty Vento released the following statement Thursday:
"Weve made the extremely difficult decision to remove our precious son Xander from life support. We send heartfelt thanks to all of you who kept our family in your thoughts and prayers; were appreciative of your love and support.
We in some way hope our sons life serves as an inspiration. He was the angel in the pool who sacrificed himself to save another. And now he continues to give as an organ donor. We were blessed to have such a kind and caring boy as Xander who set an example for all of us and even now he will be saving lives by giving of himself."

Where was the supervision? A three and four yo. You have to watch them constantly when toddlers are in the water, you have to keep your eyeballs on them at ALL times. I don't care to swim but my daughter has always loved it. Guess who was in the water with her. And even right next to her I had to pull her up on several occasions. I shudder to think what could have happened if I hadn't been right there.
I am sure the remose they feel is hell so I will just hope a lesson is learned in this tragedy. What a brave sweet dear little boy.
