Best Catch and Release story you'll ever read.
Enormous, 120-pound catfish landed by a 5-foot-2 woman
Hole and her boyfriend, Lee Pollard, were sleeping in their tent at the Oakwood Park lakes in Thetford, Norfolk, when Hole's fishing rod alarm went off at 5:15 a.m. She sprang up and started reeling in the monster.
"Lee came out to help, but I did it all myself," Hole said. "I reeled it in really slowly, but it felt like I was battling with a bus it was so heavy. ... It's the biggest thing I have ever caught."
Indeed, it turned out to be the biggest freshwater fish ever caught in the U.K. by a woman -- by more than 50 pounds. The previous record was a 69-pound, 8-ounce catfish.
Hole fought the catfish for an hour until finally bringing the beast to shore. She posed for photos, managed to have the fish weighed in a weighing sling with the help of nearby fishermen, and then released it alive back into the water.
