He always had a blues power trio with varying, but always AMAZING sidemen. Both
he and Thorogood had similar styles and had played on each other's albums.

.
He had as much stage presence as Nugent (plus he was a 6'6" SERIOUS bodybuilder).
Onstage, he owned you, he owned your women, he owned your bar, he owned your
town, he owned your state.
.
He used to sit at the bar and have a beer in between sets. I talked to him fairly
often... and he was a soft-spoken teddy-bear sweetheart gentleman -- a very cool
human being.
.
If he's still around, I highly recommend going to see him.

(56,912 posts)And she was lying in the grass
And she could hear the highway breathing
And she could see a nearby factory
She's making sure she is not dreaming
See the lights of a neighbor's house
Now she's starting to rise
Take a minute to concentrate
And she opens up her eyes
The world was moving she was right there with it and she was
The world was moving she was floating above it and she was
and she was
And she was drifting through the backyard
And she was taking off her dress
And she was moving very slowly
Rising up above the earth
Moving into the universe
And she's drifting this way and that
Not touching the ground at all
And she's up above the yard
The world was moving she was right there with it and she was
(Hey, hey)
The world was moving she was floating above it and she was
Hey, hey, hey
And she was proud about it... no doubt about it
She isn't sure about what she's done
No time to think about what to tell him
No time to think about what she's done
And she was
Hey hey, hey hey, hey!
And she was looking at herself
And things were looking like a movie
She had a pleasant elevation
She's moving out in all directions
Oh, oh oh
Hey hey hey (repeated..)
The world was moving she was right there with it and she was
Hey, woo hoo
The world was moving she was floating above it and she was
Hey, hey
Joining the world of missing persons and she was
Missing enough but feeling all right and she was
Ha ha
And she was

When my kids acted up at the dinner table, I started singing:
"One pill makes you larger..."
It shut them up fast.
Great tune

(22,757 posts)"Finally content with a past I regret"
"I'm Moving On"
I've dealt with my ghosts and I've faced all my demons
Finally content with a past I regret
I've found you find strength in your moments of weakness
For once I'm at peace with myself
I've been burdened with blame, trapped in the past for too long
I'm movin' on
I've lived in this place and I know all the faces
Each one is different but they're always the same
They mean me no harm but it's time that I face it
They'll never allow me to change
But I never dreamed home would end up where I don't belong
I'm movin' on
I'm movin' on
At last I can see life has been patiently waiting for me
And I know there's no guarantees, but I'm not alone
There comes a time in everyone's life
When all you can see are the years passing by
And I have made up my mind that those days are gone
I sold what I could and packed what I couldn't
Stopped to fill up on my way out of town
I've loved like I should but lived like I shouldn't
I had to lose everything to find out
Maybe forgiveness will find me somewhere down this road
I'm movin' on
I'm movin' on
I'm movin' on
