some people wouldn't believe it and think it's the same, but yes, there really is a difference between Boston and Down East.

Where else can you hear the word "drarrer"?

I grew up near W-AH-shington, but I stil W-OR-sh the clothes. Same basic principle, just in reverse.

Trying to speak Boston without actually having been born there is tricky. They can tell out there. And to them, it sounds like people are making fun of them. It's a very subtle thing.

Like when actors try to emulate JFK's Boston in a movie. Even I, out here in the boondocks (anywhere that's not Boston), can tell it's fake.

Better to just let him sound like a "foreigner".
