It has been windy the past couple of days.
Some photos will show the wire stake I put next to the flowers to mitigate the wind.

Congrats! Sego lilies, I miss those this time of year.

You can eat those. They're a little tart but nice in a wild salad.

How did you get the dark background?

The plants were growing just outside a bunch of Yerba Santa and Manzanita.

Every attempt I make at such a picture is like a box of chocolates. I never know what I’ll get.

I still do now and then. I had the old Swedish camera repaired.
The governor let go after only 50 years of service. Shocking!

I use the mirrorless (previously, the Coolpix P510 that served me over 10 years) to "proof" scenes for film-worthiness. (JK)

I still use the Coolpix, though I upgraded it to the "Yerkes Telescope" model.
I took it with me on a visit to the SF Bay Area, where it took great shorebird photos.
The new Coolpix was just too heavy, what with 2 mirrorless cams hanging on my shoulders.

To save time later, I do preview the images on the spot. That also tells me if I goofed with some setting, or if I left the SD card in the computer. I don't use the bluetooth on the camera, to lessen the battery load. I may change my mind on that matter.

For the food for thought. I’ll be looking for early morning shadows tomorrow.

Might have to bake up that gingerbread mix.

It's a really big family. And the related Sego Lily is the state flower of Utah, so I read.

I didn't know they existed until I moved here, and had to ask the U.C.Davis Master Gardener(s) what they were.
