(55,016 posts)with the subject line "so now _____ is allowed???!!!" and rant about how stupid the jury is, while somebody digs up some old post of yours to prove you are really a freeper and a pile of other people take everything out of context and pretty soon the whole place is boiling over with hidden posts and new threads on how you and your favorite group should be shut down and ...
meta should be called the "OUTRAGE and rubber chicken" forum.

(5,235 posts)Even though it was an obvious freeper, I was harsh. Meant to edit before the post but something wouldn't let me.
I don't feel bad for the freeper, just the other Duers who saw my nasty launguage.
Although, deep down inside, I think they agreed. He was of course shitcanned.
There was no mention of my bastardness in meta today.
Guess that's a good thing.

(19,458 posts)but I always try to make a rational explanation for hiding or not hiding, because I think of the person that alerted, and that they'll be reading it. I really hate when I alert something, and someone who thinks they're too cool for the room, writes "facepalm" Or "alerter needs to grow a thick skin." Just kind of nasty stuff. If I leave something, I usually say 'sorry, but this doesn't meet the test' or something like that. So the alerter doesn't feel completed hosed, and understands my thinking. But that's just me.
