Is a football player (Baltimore Ravens) who supports gay marriage. His pronouncement in our support prompted a Maryland state legislator to ask the Ravens to tell him to shut up. That in turn prompted a quite vociferous statement from fellow football player Chris Kluwe (Minnesota Vikings).

Ayanbadejo is publicly supporting a November ballot initiative for Maryland to join the states that recognize same-sex marriage.

This was too much for Baltimore County state delegate Emmett Burns. Burns, a Democrat, sent a formal letter to Ravens team owner Steve Biscotti writing, among other things, “I find it inconceivable that one of your players, Mr. Brendon Ayanbadejo would publicly endorse same-sex marriage, specifically as a Raven Football player…. I believe Mr. Ayanbadejo should concentrate on football and steer clear of dividing the fan base.”

Then Burns went even farther and requested that Biscotti, “take the necessary action, as a National Football League Owner, to inhibit such expressions from your employees and that he be ordered to cease and desist such injurious actions. I know of no other NFL player who has done what Mr. Ayanbadejo is doing.”

but I love football. Ayanbadejo is the guy that Chris Kluwe was defending when Chris wrote that awesome smack-down regarding marriage equality. Ayanbadejo (A Baltimore Ravens football player) spoke up in favor of marriage equality, some Maryland politician told the Ravens they need to tell their players to shut their mouths and Chris Kluwe told the politician about his ass. It was a beautiful thing.

I ran into a friend at a liquor store in Pennsylvania who had two season tickets
to Philadelphia Eagles games. He couldn't go to that night's game and offered
me his tickets free.
.
Only trouble was, if I were to go, I had to leave in about 15 minutes and I
could't reach anyone to go with me. Went alone. Traffic jam on the Schuykill
(pronounced skoo'-kul) Expressway and for part of the time, it was stop-and-go
and I ended up beside a carful of friends going to a Genesis concert next-door
to the game. Fun times in a traffic jam.
.
Nosebleed seat, but fascinating to be able to see EVERYTHING at once (albeit
little tiny everythings) instead of what the cameras focused on.
.
This was early-1980's. I've been to many MLB games, but my one experience
with a football game was very cool, but enough -- fun, but I doubt I'll ever feel
the need or desire to repeat the experience.

The one NFL game I went to happened to be in Baltimore: Colts vs. Packers at the old Memorial Stadium.
