(65,403 posts)2. They are sweet dogs, but they have just a 9-year average lifespan, which is not uncommon
in large breeds.
The best for Pyr's is usually about 10. We have a guy that we rescued at 6, and he's at 13 yrs now. I think a lot depends on individual genetics.

One of my younger cousins, and his wife had two beautiful "bears" -
Newfies. 🧡 They postwd so many sweet photos of them!
They (dogs) both died just a few years ago. Now they have at least one new one For a year+. 🧡
