Those ads last nite were the most mundane that I've ever seen. And, quite honestly, that wasn't a bad thing. Also, there were so many unexpected advertisers last nite. How the hell did some of those companies come up with that $$?
Oh, and this 67 year old and his 72 year old wifey really enjoyed the halftime show.

(14,764 posts)It's like something they felt was theirs has to be given away. It is somehow now unholy.
They can never enjoy it again.
And if there is any way we can start a religious rift between those that actually believe in what the Bible says about christ and those who are more interested in money and power, please. Let's do it.

(29,205 posts)Grew up in the KC area ( Kansas side of the border, on a rural farm ). Hank Stram and Len Dawson were my heroes. Losing to Green Bay in SB 1, then the arch rival Raiders losing to Green Bay in number 2, who could forget Broadway Joe and the Jets winning number 3... and finally KC
s redemption game against the Vikings in number 4. The last NFL versus AFL game before the merger... and which tied the series at 2 for the NFL and 2 for the AFL.. Someplace at my sisters there is a magazine cover with Hank Stram holding his rolled up game plan like a baton.
Later I moved to San Francisco, right at the time of Joe Montana and Jerry Rice... and a dynasty that won 5 Superbowls in quick succession. And I became a 49ers fan. 8 Superbowl appearances total... and they should have won 7 of those. Suffered through the years of New England dominating the Superbowl. and now Kansas City beating my new team twice in the last 2 appearances by the 49ers.
Sigh.
The commercials this year were OK... some funny... but not as good as when the dot com companies were the big spenders ( remember the cowboys trying to herd cats ). Besides, having famous people do a skit for a funny ad has been done to death now... Arnold the Govenator comes to mind this year. Cute, but not as fall down funny as those from the late 90s early 2000s.
Boilermaker royalty.

(23,690 posts)I'm sure there are plenty of us, older than you that have seen all 58 Super Bowls. The first one was in 1967
The commercials were fine. I liked the reunion of former TV stars.
