(78 posts)I did watch Ilia Malinin's skate at World's and it was a skate for the ages. I used to skate and I know how incredibly difficult Ilia's skate was. I agree with Tara Lipinski's description, "outer worldly". It was truly a skate for the ages and a skate that will be talked about for years to come. Bravo Ilia.

(12,368 posts)I for one really am not "into" all the quads.....I love figure skating for its artistry, passion with the music overall....I miss that component....
I was just thinking the other day....maybe figure skating needs to create an gymnastic/quad division and revitalize the true artistry.
Jason Brown fills that lost element of artistry in my opinion....but he can never will gold now due to the scores with quads.....I just don't find that fair...

(3,484 posts)was a lot of talk at the time about whether that was right. The guy who came in second did to a quad or maybe more than one and he was very upset that the other guy won without doing a quad. So maybe they changed some rules after that incident?
