Has anything gone down drastically in price ?

Yes, here is one thing you haven't thought of as going down....The cost of a long distance phone call....

.................When I was young (by today's standards) cost from coast to coast...New York to Los Angleses was ..$10..a minute..
.....................Now, depending on what plan you have ...now ...30 cents a minute...The ten dollar a minute takes in the cost
of inflation........was maybe $2.00 a minute in the 50s..by today's money.....(you could buy a car for $2000....back in those days.
............................ My first car was a 71.. new stick shift Pontiac that cost about $2000.........................................
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

..........................NOW ...MAYBE 25 TO 30 CENTS A MINUTE.. (today's money)..........long distance..coast to coast.

....................................drastic reduction in price from 2.00 a minute in 50s money to 25 Cents a minute in today's money[

....................OF COURSE MOST PEOPLE DON'T SEE IT THAT WAY....BUT IN REALITY IT IS A REAL DRASTIC REDUCTION IN PRICE

.................................................anything else that you can name?

my landline, and my cell phone. Yes, I do have both. Each one has a flat rate, and there's no additional charge for calls a long way away.

So there is no cost per minute and I cannot begin to imagine what you are ranting about.

11. So? Long distance calls are not one of those things

that has increased. I'm old. I remember when long distance was a remarkably short distance from wherever a person lived. Now, and for the past two decades or thereabouts, I can call anywhere in the country for no extra charge.

Electronic Devices are much less than what they were 25 years ago.
Now, you can get a color TV for maybe.... $300.00

and the quality is up.

This is due solely to free market competition. There are many dispensaries around here vying for my business.

The prices of food items in our standard supermarkets Publix and Winn-Dixie is way up.

The prices of items in Aldi stores are far more reasonable. On a recent shopping trip, I noted that spinach was three times the price at Winn-D compared to Aldi.

Heck, I couldn't afford a portable computer (AKA laptop) until they came out with netbooks around 2009. My first netbook was an HP with Linux. I now own Chromebooks. I think there are also affordable lightweight Windows laptops today.
