Ronel Blanco of the Astros throws no-hitter in 5th game of the season

https://www.mlb.com/astros/news/ronel-blanco-no-hits-blue-jays

In Blanco’s eighth MLB start, he sets the record for the earliest first no-hitter of the season in MLB history. It’s not the earliest no-no in a pitcher’s career - Clay Buchholz of the Red Sox and Wilson Alvarez of the White Sox both threw one in their second starts - but it is a team record.

but Bob Feller threw an opening day no hitter on April 16, 1940; the only opening day no hitter in history. You can’t get earlier in a season than opening day.

Those Blue Jays are looking horrible at the plate. Maybe Ryan could have picked up his 8th career no-no.

Don't see many of those anymore. They've even changed the stat for no-hitters to account for shared ones, to the detriment of Ernie Shore, who no longer is credited for a perfect game because he pitched in "relief" of Babe Ruth.
