John Hiatt wrote it and it's on his Slow Turning Album. Buddy Guy covered it and had a hit with it and plays it at most of his shows. Buddy Guy does not do many covers, but many consider it his signature song.

Guitars players were frustrated for years because they couldn't get that riff to sound right, even though the notes are obvious.
It's because that's not one guitar playing chords. It's 3 separate guitar tracks playing the notes separately. Because of that, there's no phase interaction between the strings as on a single guitar.
There is literally no way to get that riff to sound like it does here with only one person playing.

And, you're on to something about a guest lead guitar, but that's not Duane. (Who did play on the Dominoes album.)

We need software that enables debm55 to automatically create a YouTube or Spotify playlist of the songs DU identifies. Debm55 would have to curate so crackpot entries would not make the playlist. I will submit 'Itsy Bitsy Spider' (down came the rain...) as an example of a song that might be considered crackpot. Ask yourself, 'Should it make the playlist?'

...findings that I came across while watching this live version of On The Street Where You Live from the same Broadway revival. There are 2 versions - the stage and the recording studio. The studio one is a little longer. Both are wonderful.
