so those lyrics hit me like a ton of bricks

On the other hand, they also bring back a few good memories of my youth.

So it's a song that can run hot or cold with me...

Unfortunately he quit music at the height of his career to run his ranch. His newer music is good, but it's nothing like it was.

One the other side was Meatloaf "Bat Out of Hell". It was always referred to as the sandwich tape.
