Friday afternoon fun for Musicophiles!!!!

Post here your favorite band for each letter of the alphabet. If you are using soloists like Bruce Springsteen he would be listed under 'S' for Springsteen. Bands that start with 'The' or 'A' get those words dropped - The Beatles would be listed under 'B' for Beatles.

Here's my list of favorite bands by each letter of the alphabet
A: Allman Brothers Band
B: The Beastie Boys (just edging out David Bowie)
C: The Clash (Cake is a close 2nd)
D: Dixie Chicks
E: Electric Light Orchestra
F: Foo Fighters
G: Green Day
H: George Harrison
I: Billy Idol
J: Joy Division (edges out Jethro Tull)
K: King Crimson
L: Led Zeppelin (this includes all LZ related releases like Robert Plant's solo career or Page & Plant years)
M: Madonna
N: Nine Inch Nails
O: Roy Orbison
P: Pink Floyd
Q: Queen
R: Radiohead (just edging out Rush)
S: Bruce Springsteen
T: Talking Heads
U: U2
V: Vampire Weekend
W: White Stripes (just eding out the Who)
X: XTC
Y: Yes
Z: ZZTop

It was a pretty thin list of what I could pick from. X & Q were like easy since i'm a big fan of both XTC and Queen.

I'm just too much of a metal-head to not pick Obituary for O though.

I had to look through my winamp library for a Z and didn't find any Z bands that I like more than Frank Zappa. ZZ Topp would have been second choice though.

I was pretty thin in the Us too.

In fact, nearly all of my second and third choices would have been classic rock or country - I'm honestly not as musically one-dimensional as my list might suggest. I like stuff from nearly every genre out there but metal is my favorite so it will win most letters when I can only pick one band. Jazz, Blues, New Wave, Classical, Hip-hop, and others all could have made an appearance if I had 2 or 3 picks for each letter.
