so I breathe pot smoke continuously. While looking for work I was worried that pot would show up in my urine so I searched for answers. Apparently it is impossible to test positive for pot unless you inhale, and, having passed a number of drug tests I personally believe that is true. Now that being said, I have never felt the effects as yet and it has been years. I'm thinking your wife had more of a placebo effect.

And, my roommate is usually right next to me. I really think it was a placebo effect.

A marijuana high doesn't last very long. She'd have to have been smoking directly and a lot to have any leftover reactions. She and you are apparently just into the reefer madness state of mind due to lack of personal knowledge or experience.

I have extensive experience with Marijuana. Even in a small car with all the windows rolled up and two blunts going around I've never achieved a contact high.

Lionessa is mean to everyone (lol).

And she was right! You don't need help. There are folks here who have pretty extensive experience with weed - mine was in my late teens to early 20s when I was high every single day. I quit 25 years ago but I still have fond memories of those days. Everyone is telling you that contact high is nothing to worry about. I can only offer my own experience but, like what was said above, I've been in a lot of rooms with a lot of smoke and never got a contact high. Maybe I had higher tolerance then but I'd think it would be lesser with time and I have been in the room with smokers since then and still no buzz.

And like Seedersandleechers said, it was probably the power of suggestion. Nobody is saying that to be mean to you or your wife. Relax, listen to some Zep.

( I know what I intended to do was not post until after the election but I figure it wasn't political and maybe could get some suggestions or if anything else people might get a laugh.)

Now there were a few suggestions as to the longevity of your wife's "high", and as far as getting a laugh goes, you scored!

It's all good.

People here are pretty supportive - even here (actually especially here) in the Lounge.

But when things that are posted that are over the top people get a little skeptical and snarky.

I read the first edit. Little over reaction there to pot smoking. And it sounds like she was way more nervous and stressed than high. Some folks do eat to relieve stress. Hence the whole pizza?

You're in more dire need of a pot high than any man alive.

that a "Placebo effect" could have been an issue! We have a neighbor she went to after she left the client. This neighbor got my wife the job with the company they are with. The neighbor was concern! She has been high and has smoke and done different types of drugs as a teenager not to mention having to deal with a mother who was an addict. SHE- the neighbor was worried by what my wife might have inhaled second hand. SHE made it a point to take my wife to the office to report the incident. THE supervisor was concerned by my wife's eyes!

My wife has NEVER been around anyone who has ever used drugs. She was not acting like herself AND she would have no idea how drugs interact with a body!

The neighbor said my wife was not herself! She has not seen my wife like this! I've seen my wife drunk AND this was not anything I had seen before I WAS CONCERN AND WORRIED! I was very close to taking her to the hospital if she didn't start acting like herself. She finally started being herself after eating and getting a shower.

I reached out hoping that yeah maybe people kind of laugh that my wife got high at work BUT would honestly help me!

NOT to call me a liar or that I'm full of Bull Shit!

So from now on I will only reply to general threads! I will not ask for opinions again other than from people in the diabetic group and I will keep to my promise not to say anymore on this board until after the election!

I would only hope IF you or a love one ever had a bad experience like my wife and I had today YOU would not be treated in such a flippin mannor!
