i finally started going to my dad's to use his landline if i had to call in. found out the expensive way that he had dropped long distance from the house phone.

And that was just to get our fucking Internet service back on. While I was on hold (without my knowledge) the service was restored. I used my on-phone time to work my way up the food chain and bitch out everyone along the way. It was a defective router. DON'T THEY HAVE REPLACEMENTS AVAILABLE? Shit. I've got backup equipment for every part of the chain in my own damn house!

On Edit: It was a T-1 line that was out - 24 channels (well, technically 23 since one is used for coordinating the others). We had eight offices connected by that line. Our entire operation was shut down by that failure and we never got a "loss of service" credit on the bill. I tried to deal with that part too but it just didn't happen.

On SECOND Edit: I HATE elevator music, especially when it's Barry Manilow, which started OUT as elevator music. How about some ZZ Top or Heart or something?

This was five years so it looks like things have only gotten worse.

I was passed around until I noticed I was talking to the same people twice. Stay away from Verizon.
